Silverwood Park presents a pandemic friendly art exhibition featuring installation by Dan Benoit
The Creature Fort is an interactive interpretive display and visual art installation designed intentionally to be safe during Covid. Using only the light from their phone, visitors can activate and explore a mixed reality experience that features wildlife that lives, or can be seen, around Minnesota. This installation work can be experienced through the windows of the Silverwood Gallery at the Silverwood Park Visitor Center.
Artist Statement:
Spending time outdoors enjoying nature has been the single most dependable bastion warding me against the insanity of this moment. I'm also a prodigious tech nerd and ardent futurist. The Creature Fort is a fusion of these two poles. I aimed to create an experience that reminds us of our ability to creatively use technology to solve problems, and through that experience, have fun learning a bit more about the creatures that share their homes with us.
