Between the Stripes, Under the Stars

A group exhibition curated by Fawzia Khan

The Catherine G. Murphy Gallery is pleased to present Between the Stripes, Under the Stars, a new exhibition by ten women artists—the majority of whom are immigrants from Asia, the Middle East and Africa—attempting to answer the question, “who is an American?” This is the second exhibition by these artists, who explore identity within the context of multiculturalism, language, upbringing, gender and the legacy of colonialism. Using a variety of media and methods, these artists present a range of viewpoints and experiences contained in contemporary American identity.

Opening Reception:
Artists will be present at the opening reception on Saturday, November 5, 5–7pm. For more information, please visit gallery.stkate.edu.
