Shana Kaplow’s statement:
Shana Kaplow’s work connects personal narrative with larger global questions. Stemming from her father’s early work in solar energy, she reflects images of power lines, crude oil, and the sun in a curved, circular mirror, using them as points of departure for her paintings. The energy grid becomes distorted and mercurial, signaling either the brink of collapse or the potential for transformation.

Dahn Gim’s statement:
Dahn Gim work navigates the dynamic tensions between the known and the unknown, familiarity and uncertainty, through processes of alteration, restoration, and reassembly of everyday, found, and materially sensitive forms.

Emmett Ramstad's Artist Statement:
Emmett Ramstad’s work is inspired by queer and trans archives. Curious about how objects are personified to hold and tell stories, his sculptures reform materials from the home, such as worn dishcloths and flaking fence posts, to explore the presence, absence and imprint of bodies in domestic and public spaces.

Rachel Breen's Artist Statement
Rachel Breen is a maker, who unmakes and remakes, addressing the interconnections of labor rights and climate change. Working primarily with used clothing, these materials embed the histories of both workers and wearers into her work. Stitches connect her materials together as a form of resistance, holding together something new and reminding us of our ability to repair and rebuild.
