BEAUTIFUL WORLD: Art in De-evolutionary Times

We invite artists to submit work that embodies DEVO’s ethos, centering on the theme of “De-evolution.” Examples of devolution are all around us: climate change, consumerism, capitalism, corporate greed, artificial intelligence, robotics, automation, loss of individuality, conformity... the prescient message of DEVO has resonated with spuds, mutants, and comrades for decades.

Works selected for BEAUTIFUL WORLD will be displayed alongside a strictly limited-edition portfolio of rare or never-before-seen DEVO images by world-class photographers: Neal Preston, Ebet Roberts, Allan Tannenbaum, and Richard Alden Peterson. These highly collectible prints are of a set quantity and signed by each member of DEVO.

Accepted Media: Open to all media and subject matter. Wall work limited to 36” and under. Artists can submit up to 3 images in jpeg or mp4 format. All accepted 2D work must be wired and ready to hang. We prefer that accepted work is for sale, but it is not a requirement. The Gallery’s commission is 35%. We will not accept AI generated artwork.

Submission deadline: October 5th, 2025 at midnight

Artist Notifications: October 7th

Artwork Dropoff: October 16th through the 19th, during regular gallery hours

Exhibition Dates: October 23rd through November 23rd

Opening Reception: Friday, October 24th, 6-8pm

Reception Details: We will be holding a masks required hour from 5-6pm, masks will be optional for the reception from 6-8pm with local DEVO tribute band REVO performing from 7:30-8pm.
