AutFest presented by Rochester Art Center and Autism Resource Guide

Rochester Art Center and Autism Resource Guide are proud to announce AutFest, a free family day celebrating creativity, connection, and community on Sunday, September 28, from 11 am to 4 pm at Rochester Art Center and Mayo Park.

AutFest is free and open to everyone, with a special focus on creating an accessible, sensory-sensitive environment for individuals with special needs, their caregivers, and families of all ages and abilities. Each activity is thoughtfully designed to encourage exploration, self-expression, and fun in a welcoming setting.

Highlights of the day include:

  • Educational presentations and interactive sensory regulation activities
  • Exhibitions by artists with special needs
  • Hands-on arts and crafts, color therapy, and sensory “test lab” experiences
  • Movement activities such as yoga and T’ai Chi
  • Gentle live performances from musicians & dancers, including local band Push & Turn
  • Dance lessons, sound baths, and singing bowls
  • Family favorites like face painting, balloon animals, giant yard games, a teddy bear clinic, story time, and a magic show
  • A unique salt therapy trailer and more surprises throughout the day!

AutFest is more than just a festival—it’s a celebration of inclusivity, creativity, and community support.

AutFest is made possible through a grant from the Southeastern Minnesota Arts Council and the Rochester Downtown Alliance’s Start-Up Event Grant. Special thanks to Momentum Behavior Services, the event’s Advocate Sponsor. Additional support is provided by The Clinton Family Fund. We are also grateful to the many area organizations whose generous financial support, volunteer efforts, activity stations, and performances make this inclusive day possible.
