Artability Art Show & Sale
A Showcase of Art, Expression, and Resilience
People Incorporated is excited to invite the community to the 32nd Annual Artability Art Show & Sale, taking place at Union Depot (214 4th Street East, St. Paul) on Friday, October 23 from 4 – 8 p.m. Centered on the theme “This is Me,” the free event celebrates the creative expressions, individuality, and talents of people who use art as a form of healing to support their mental health journey. The show also highlights the growing participation of adults age 55 and older through Artability’s Vitality Arts programming, which expanded significantly this year to create more opportunities for creative engagement, community, and connection among older adults.
The 2026 Artability Art Show & Sale will feature 120 artists and nearly 450 original works of art, a 22% increase in participating artists, and 36% increase in artwork from 2025. The original works range from painting and sculptures to photography and writing. Guests can browse and purchase original artwork, meet participating artists and enjoy interactive activities including collaborative artmaking, face painting, caricatures and mini golf. Light bites and a cash bar will also be available.
Each piece is available for purchase and artists receive 75% of the proceeds from their artwork sales, with the remaining 25% reinvested into Artability’s free creative arts programming. Through workshops, exhibitions and other creative opportunities, Artability gives adults experiencing mental health challenges a place to create, connect, grow and be seen.
Additionally, the show will help change an artist’s life. The Melissa Lewis Scholarship will be awarded to an emerging female artist of color. This scholarship is chosen by an impartial BIPOC judge based on a short essay submission.
AMBASSADOR ARTIST:
This year, the Artability Art Show & Sale Art Ambassador is Saber DeMare, a visual artist of many mediums who has been creating work for over 20 years. For Saber, art has always been more than a creative outlet. It has been a lifeline. Growing up amid trauma, instability and repeated experiences in foster care, he found one constant through every chapter of his life: creating art. Long before he had the words to describe what he was feeling, Saber communicated through drawing, using creativity to process experiences that were often difficult to express. Art helped him navigate PTSD and depression, recover from a traumatic brain injury, and build a future beyond the circumstances he was born into. Today, Saber describes art as a place where he finds peace. Inspired by nature and the outdoors, his work captures the beauty, detail and emotion of the natural world. For him, Artability is not only an opportunity to exhibit his work, but a community where creativity and the artists behind it are seen, valued and celebrated.
