Art Has No Rules

Squirrel Haus and Serpentina Arts presents a group exhibition of Mexican artists challenging traditional conventions featuring Ramsés Alarcón, Raul Palacios, and Alejandro Gazca

Serpentina Arts is proud to present an exhibition featuring the works of three emerging Mexican artists, who all share a common philosophy: "Art has no rules." Despite having no formal art education, these artists have created stunning works of Art that challenge traditional conventions and celebrate the power of individual expression.

The exhibition will feature the work of three artists who have each developed a unique and distinctive style. Ramsés Alarcón, Raul Palacios, and Alejandro Gazca's work explore the vibrant mix of bold colors and intricate patterns and the stunning fusion of abstract and figurative styles.

Despite their diverse approaches to Art, these artists are deeply committed to the idea that creativity should be free from rules and expectations. As the curator and instigator for this art show, Luis Fitch, explains, “Art is not about following someone else's vision. It's about creating your own.”

Serpentina Arts, one of Minneapolis’s most innovative and forward-thinking Latino collectives, will host this exhibition at Squirrel Haus Arts (3450 Snelling Avenue, Minneapolis, MN). Serpentina Arts is known for helping Latinx artists advance their craft professionally and find ways to push the boundaries of traditional artistic conventions in Minnesota.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to showcase the work of these three incredible artists who have lacked sufficient exposure,” says Maria Cristina (Tina)Tavera, Serpentina Arts Director. “Their work is a powerful reminder that rules or expectations should never constrain creativity.”

The pop-up exhibition will run from June 2 to June 4, including artwork in various media. The artists will be present for the Artist Reception, which will take place on Saturday June 3 from 6:30 pm to 9 pm.
