Art for the Mission + CONSTRUCT/CONSTRUCT

In the West Gallery, Art for the Mission: New Acquisitions from the St. Catherine University Fine Art Collection (2015-2025) features artworks acquired for the St. Kate’s Fine Art Collection (FAC) over the past decade. The exhibition has been curated by Nicole Watson and Jennifer Adam. This exhibition explores three different themes represented by these artworks: the FAC’s Commitment—and Re-commitment—to the Mission; Our Collective History; and Notable Contemporary Minnesota Women Artists. The importance and role of St. Kate’s students engaging with, contributing to, and learning from the FAC, is also woven throughout the exhibit.

In the East Gallery, CONSTRUCT/CONSTRUCT, the 2026 Student Creative Showcase and Senior Exhibition, features juried work by St. Kate’s scholar artists. The students describe their exhibition

“Construct /kənˈstrək(t)/. Construct /ˈkänˌstrək(t)/. Which do you hear first? A noun and a verb. The creation and the created. The process and the product. In this exhibition, we explore the spectrum.”
