Art 4 Shelter

Every year, hundreds of generous artists donate original works of art to this massive exhibition and sale. The pieces are displayed anonymously and offered for a fixed, affordable price ($35 for a 5”x7” image, $90 for an 8”x10” image, etc.). Attendees are invited to explore and then pluck whatever art compels them right off the walls, not knowing until later if they’ve been created by an established favorite or an emerging artist. It’s like a treasure hunt, a night of discovery, and a showcase of our massively talented creative community all in one.  

Best of all: all proceeds go toward Simpson Housing Services’ shelter and housing programs. The most recent Wilder Research Homelessness in Minnesota study (2018) found that up to 20,000 Minnesotans are now homeless on any given night – a record high. Since its inception in 2011, Art 4 Shelter has raised $900,000, providing 25,714 nights of shelter and housing for people experiencing homelessness. 

This year’s fun-filled art sale includes 5 different events:  

• First Look Luncheon: Friday, May 13 | 11:30 am – 1:30 pm* 
• Free Benefit Art Sale: Friday, May 13 | 6 pm – 9 pm 
• Online Auction: Friday, May 13 | 11:30 am – 9 pm 
• Family Day: Saturday, May 14 | 10 am – 1 pm 
• Virtual Art Sale: June 1 at 6 pm – June 5 at noon
