Art Shanty Projects returns to the ice for more great whimsical, weird and joyful winter art experiences.
The chill is setting in, that means SHANTY SEASON is drawing near. Over 200+ artists and 20 performance groups have been selected and announced and their production plans are well underway. They’ll be back on Bde Unma / Lake Harriet from January 15 - February 6 and they're excited to see you all again!
Shanties are active from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM Saturdays and Sundays during the festival.
Check out their visit page for more information.
Please consider making a donation in advance of of the festival. Gifts of any amount are appreciated; memberships begin at $24 annually (or just $2/month). They are set up on GiveMN (best for one-time gifts) and Patreon (best for monthly gifts).
Art Shanty Projects is a joyful expression of public art, and they have a commitment to prioritize public health in our operations. In the spirit of abundant caution and love for our community, they are offering an EXTERIOR-ONLY EXPERIENCE for visitors this year. That means no going inside shanties, and they strongly encourage mask wearing even though it is outdoors.
Wearing a mask will help keep you, our shanty community, and the public safe. It’s a respectful act towards our artists, and helps ensure they can stay open while many events are having to pause at this time.
