Trylon hosts a night of experimental animation from the 60s and 70s
After years of collecting and squirreling away experimental animations from the 1960 – 70s, Trylon introduces audiences to the weird and wonderful world of 16mm with their collection of animated shorts. These eight films from all over the world represent the limitless possibilities of animation, and also highlight the versatility of shorts at a time when 16mm was prevalent. The format was relatively cheap and because it favored short reels allowed for immense creativity and exploration.
Recognizing that the projection of film is becoming rare, the Cult Film Collective has spent six years presenting rare 35mm films sourced from private collections and archives. They now open up their own 16mm archive for exhibition. This, being only the tip of the Cult Film Collective’s collection, is a taste of what is to come. 7:00, 75 minutes Tickets $8
