Textile Center's 25th Anniversary Fall Exhibitions

Textile Center presents three concurrent exhibitions

Silver Jubilee
In celebration of Textile Center’s 25th Anniversary, Silver Jubilee features eleven artists who have made significant and unique contributions to the field of fiber art throughout the past 25 years. Woven, stitched, hand-constructed, dyed, painted, manipulated and embellished, surfaces and objects lush in material and rich in idea span a broad range of content and process. Join us to celebrate these incredible works of art by established masters in the field. (Exhibition ends on Wednesday, October 23).

Friends of Mary: Honoring the Legacy of Mary Giles
Friends of Mary presents the work of nine of Mary Giles’ artist friends who have made work in her honor using her materials, incorporating fragments of her work, or utilizing her ideas or imagery. Giles’ own work, historical pieces from her personal collection, and photos of her studio are also featured in this homage to a beloved “fiberist” and founding member of Textile Center’s National Artist Advisory Council. Curated by Jim Harris.

Insook Choi: Ulsan Bangudae 울산 반구대
Ulsan Bangudae presents the Bojagi works of Insook Choi, a designated Master of Bojagi by the Federation of Artistic and Cultural Organizations in Korea. Choi’s exceptional hand stitched and embroidered hemp and silk work reflects the imagery of the prehistoric Bangudae Petroglyphs in Ulsan city that depict Korean origin and migration in this cultural area of South Korea. We are honored to be able to host this solo show of her work. Curated by Chunghie Lee. Choi and Lee will be coming from Korea for the opening reception.
