Scissors Circus

Fresh from last month’s Zine Release Party, Twin Cities-based “punk surrealist” Erik Farseth unveils sixteen new cut paper collages in this pop-up exhibition at the A-Mill Artist Lofts. 

Scissors Circus features works on paper created over the past 12 months as part of a new series of abstract organic and geometric forms juxtaposed with the stuff of dystopian dreams. Visions of Lovecraftian horror quickly give way to colorful shapes hovering above a swirling mass of mysterious tendrils, emerging seed pods, phosphorescent lights, molten rock, metal foil, and natural textures. 

The artist will also be exhibiting copies of his Emergency Art Kit, a portable Gallery-In-A-Box filled with artistic multiples (relief prints, stickers, magnets, etc.), together with a full color print zine based on the series.
