Northern Lights 2022 Telethon

The variety show fundraiser to benefit Northern Lights.mn and the Northern Spark festival will feature an immersive in-studio experience and live broadcast on October 19, 2022

 The Telethon features a new twist this year – exclusive tickets to an immersive in-studio experience! Virtual tickets are free and unlimited. Register on Eventbrite for tickets and a chance to win prizes. The Telethon is free to watch live on YouTube and Facebook.

The Telethon supports the artistic programming of Northern Lights.mn, including the beloved Northern Spark festival. The Telethon was originally scheduled for April 2022. 

This year’s telethon features:

• John Gebretatose from HUGE Theater and Blackout Improv as Host!
• Mayda – Our Musical Guest!
• The Northern Spark Kazoo Band!
• Sami Pfeffer as Telephone Operator!
• Surprise guest storytellers, featuring friends, supporters and alumni artists of Northern Lights.mn programs!

The Northern Lights.mn Telethon will dazzle with improv performances, musical interludes, stories of long nights at Northern Spark, green-screen shenanigans, suspenseful prize drawings, kazoos, and back by popular demand: the Telephone Operator. 

About John Gebretatose, Host of the Telethon

John Gebretatose is an international improv powerhouse who coaches teams and holds improv workshops across industries. He has led and facilitated diversity and inclusion programming for improv theaters all over the world with a mission of uplifting all voices. John is an instructor and the director of diversity and inclusion at HUGE Improv Theater in Minneapolis. He trained and worked at Brave New Workshop and has been performing stand-up, improv, and sketch comedy in the Twin Cities for over 10 years.
