Photos and film by Isa Escalona at Normal Residential Purposes
Situated within a dreamlike, red-lit installation, Natural Affairs presents photographs and a short film on the containment of the natural world and the staging of beauty. Scenes of caged animals, security cameras, latex gloves, and voyeuristic window watching create an enveloping multimedia exhibit that explores our control over desire and the natural world.
Natural Affairs is on view by appointment at 308 E Prince St. in St. Paul. You can make an appointment to view the installation from Saturday, November 21 – Sunday, December 20. Specific hours are 7-10pm Wednesday – Thursday, and noon-5pm Friday – Sunday. To make an appointment, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
