Collaborative art activity led by Donald Thomas and Zine-making with Million Artists Movement focused on Afrofuturism.

Enjoy a live DJ set by DJ NEEKASODOPE and celebrate the opening of Mia’s latest Contemporary exhibition, 'Mapping Black Identities'. This exhibition takes its inspiration from the recent acquisition of artist Frank Bowling’s map painting False Start (1970), the work in Mapping Black Identities challenges the notion that Black identity is monolithic.
This exhibition seeks to amplify underrepresented voices and create connections around the concept of Blackness in contemporary art across time and place.
The Third Thursday event (art-making, gallery activations, performances, and tours) as well as general admission to the museum are always free and open to the public.
