Solo Exhibition from Chris Larson
In Larson's newest work titled Depression Groove, he takes early American country music ephemera to revisit themes from his ongoing body of work titled Heavy Rotation, a term that refers to the frequent radio airplay of a record album. In this new body of work, Larson continues his ongoing research into mark-making through removal and mechanical gestures. As a sculptor, he approaches these works using methods of subtraction, repetition, and play to document labor in the context of the studio.
