Artist Talks: Jordan Weber and Nancy Nowacek
The Walker Art Center presents back to back artist talks with Jordan Weber and Nancy Nowacek
On May 27 at 12 noon (CDT) Nisa Mackie, Walker's director of Education and Public Programs, will speak with Des Moines–based artist Jordan Weber, who has been an artist-in-residence at the Walker for the past year. Weber will discuss his forthcoming public art piece, his research on environmental justice issues in various midwestern cities, and community organizing in the time of COVID-19.
At 1 pm (CDT), Nisa Mackie will be joined by artist, educator, designer, and @walkerteens artist-in-residence Nancy Nowacek, who crafts participatory platforms and social encounters with different publics as a way of examining the complex systems that form modern life. She will share thoughts on Zoom teaching, social form, revising her projects in response to New York’s shutdown, and quarantine pro-tips.
