A Common Thread 2022

A Common Thread 2022

Now in its 22nd year, A Common Thread showcases the breadth and talent of Textile Center members.

124 artworks made by 133 artists will adorn the walls of Textile Center's galleries in an exhibition that is as diverse in technique as it is prolific in scope. Submitted from among Textile Center’s nearly 1,000 members, myriad fiber art materials and textile techniques will be represented including stitching, quilting, knitting, weaving, crochet, sewing, dyeing, felting, hand construction, polymer clay, basketry, beading, sculpture, and mixed media.

“This year’s exhibition includes work by numerous long-time dedicated member artists and makers, as well as the work of numerous new member artists who have recently discovered and joined the organization. Hosting this exhibition is a terrific opportunity to showcase the work of so many talented artists. Once again, the galleries will be filled with an expansive installation where everyone who visits is sure to find something that resonates,” says Tracy Krumm, Textile Center’s Director for Artistic Advancement.

“In addition, we are excited to welcome everyone to join us for our first public reception in more than two years. Indoor and outdoor accommodations will be provided to suit a range of comfort levels, so join us August 3 at 5 pm to celebrate what has come to be one of Textile Center’s favorite events.”

A virtual exhibition will accompany the show, and will be on our website in early September, to provide an alternative format to the show for those who cannot make it to Textile Center.
