Now in its 20th year, A Common Thread showcases the breadth and talent of Textile Center members. 105 artworks will adorn the walls of Textile Center's galleries in an exhibition that is as diverse in technique as it is prolific in scope. Submitted from among nearly 1,000 Textile Center members, fiber art techniques represented will include stitching, quilting, knitting, weaving, crochet, sewing, dyeing, felting, hand construction, polymer clay, basketry, beading, sculpture and mixed media.

“This year we have the special honor of including two collaborative garments by TIM+THOM, North Star Farm Tour, and Textile Center. These extraordinary looks were made from Minnesota grown yak and sheep fiber, hand woven on a floor loom, and created by Tim and Thom Navarro to explore the possibilities of Farm-to-Fashion creation and production right here in Minnesota. These not-to-be-missed garments are a highlight of this 20th edition of this exhibition — and were a highlight project of Textile Center’s 25th Anniversary year,” says Tracy Krumm, Textile Center’s Director for Artistic Advancement.
