The main reason it is considered art is because it is illegal. The graffiti art/street art culture (or whatever you want to call it) was made from guys like this running around, trying to put their ideas on whatever they could without getting caught. None of the people doing this are going up to your personal property and vandalizing it. There is a difference between being smart with your street art and vandalizing someone's personal property...so David...your attempt at sounding smart with the "trusty black sharpie" failed miserably in my opinion. There is no parallel between street art and the stupid example of vandalism that you provided us with.

I used to live in Loring Park, then I moved to Uptown and now I live in S. Mpls and I've seen Hot Tea's yarn tags in every location. I just love it. Keep it up and shake the haters off.

David. Consider the idea that the work these artists are doing is, in fact, not vandalizing property. Personally, I welcome a culture that recognizes the space it lives within as its own and hopes to beautify it with a unique voice. Particularly in blighted areas like this example in Denver.

Legal walls, non-destructive street art, bombing abandoned buildings with full on graffiti should all be encouraged.

vandalism is not art. Ask permission, be granted permission , then install whatever you want , no matter how shocking or blase. If I walked up to you with my trusty black sharpie and wrote on your face. I love Sarah Palin or I love President Obama , you would not be too happy with me . Wearing a "scar" around that the whole world would see. get real

"Socorro" is a piece dedicated to our late grandmother whom we love and miss very much. When viewing the time-lapse video, I'm always overwhelmed with peace and comfort. Thank you for this, Brother. Keep on inspiring with your art.

Thanks for the kind words, Kristoffer. We're lucky to have this site as a resource. One note, though: Taylor would probably be pretty surprised to learn he's vita.mn staff!
