it’s fall time & life is turning

Friday, September 29th, 2006

now that the play of summer is behind us (as i wipe the tear from the corner of my eye)…it’s time to get back to business.

this weekend will be filled with marching bands, P.O.S, Paper Tiger, Atmosphere, 27…and as always ART, ART, ART!

Say hello…i’ll be the girl in vinyl,

emma

btw, i love this…

so very sad…

Monday, September 25th, 2006

this weekend my boy & i were burglarized…someone(s) broke into our lovely home and stole anything & everything (ibook, ipod, inano, digital camera, razr phone…etc).

the saddest part is that i think they are trying to steal my identity…they stole my shoes, 10 pairs!

my favorite pair…

keep an eye out for some heartless ghost of a girl wearing my pretty shoes…and sporting pink eyeshadow (did i mention that they stole my make-up).

on the positive side, i have the best friends ever, and that cannot be stolen.

searching for smiles,

emma

grey is not a color

Friday, September 22nd, 2006

There are few things that can make a grey, drizzly end of summer day like today brighter. One way is to spend the afternoon entranced by the wonderful color pallete of The Clayton Brothers. Rob and Christian presented their work in a lecture at MCAD today that left all of us marvelling at their rich, beautiful and oftentimes grotesque view of the world around them.

Their collaborative working style should be an inspiration to all of us.

today i want to live here…

Giddy to see the show tomorrow at Flanders…who knows how many or what will be showing by mr. damien hirst…but i just need a little nibble, for now.  Hopefully I will be able to binge on mr. hirst once the burnet gallery opens in the new chambers hotel…it looks packed full with tasty treats!

yum,

a breath of fresh air

there was an article awhile back in the rake that went over the minneapolis art scene in the 80′s…which if you were part of the scene you know how it read…and if ever hear stories of the 80′s art scene, you know how it read. the best part of the article though, is this glitter of optimism by Melissa Stang in her letter to the rake as a response.
thank you Melissa…

i have been so gone…

graffiti basics exhibit

went to NY over labor day with my ladies, saw the graffiti basics show at the Brooklyn Museum…played & shopped like a rock star…and decided to come back & love this fabulous city, MPLS! NY hasn’t stolen me yet.

over this past weekend i was able to attend three openings…the SOO on friday (which was a bit more quiet than usual…i missed everyone) and the Rolling Stock & Midway shows on Saturday (what a contrast). Check out the pics…

forever mpls,
