Instinct Gallery presents the Art of Sue Coe, Nancy Robinson, and the Guerrilla Girls

As part of the Guerrilla Girls Takeover of Minneapolis, Instinct Gallery has paired internationally recognized illustrator, Sue Coe with local painter Nancy Robinson. Both women came of age as artists in the 1970-1980s, a time of uprising on many fronts including feminism.  The exhibition also includes a video by the Guerrilla Girls that surveys their work over the past 30 years.

These artists put themselves on the line to shape the world around them.  They use different strategies and art forms, take aim at different aspects of our humanness, and present themselves in very different personas.  What unites them is their bravery to be who they are in the face of what we, as a society, are.  They are unrestrained voices in a sea of well-mannered voices.
