Symbiosis: Nature and Her Keepers - Jessica Turtle

Symbiosis: Nature and Her Keepers - Jessica Turtle

A solo exhibition of original works by Jessica Turtle

Jessica Turtle uses artwork as a means to improve the world as best she knows how. In 2016, she created the Natural Heritage Project, an ever-growing group of artists, nationwide, enlisted to create a visual response to data on the locations and status of rare species, natural communities, and natural features throughout each state. Much thought goes into Jessica’s work, as a curator, painter and poet, resulting in an over-arching narrative on symbiotic relationships between humankind and the natural world. She is increasingly aware of how all things are connected, interdependent, and purposefully designed. She enjoys using her obsession with bones, birds, their feathers and nests, moss of any kind, and bugs to create unique teaching moments. Jessica has curated six unique exhibitions over the past two years and looks forward to a full 2019/2020 line- up of local exhibitions in a similar vein popping up all over the Twin Cities.
