Rogue Citizen at Pop Out

Rogue Citizen at Pop Out

Rogue Citizen artist collective showcases their unique brand of collaboration with the debut exhibition at Pop Out.

ROGUE CITIZEN at POP OUT features over 100 collaborative and individual artworks for sale, most of which have never been shown publicly. All of the work in this show is created by the artists of Rogue Citizen artist collective: Blaster, Dalsen, Lizardman, McGorry, and Ugaso. From abstract compositions and experiments in calligraphy to graphic portraits and satirical pop imagery, it is un- abashedly a “kitchen sink” collection of pieces. Paintings large and small (and very large), apparel, works on paper, prints, and other objects appear in this collection. Collaborations with other artists are also included in the show, notably illustrator Chuck U, Jackalope Tattoo artist Katie Kroeck, and custom guitar builder Jeff Neilsen.

This chaotic assembly emerges as the first gallery exhibition produced by Rogue Citizen in two years, the most recent being 2014’s Minimum Wage. The artists have been immersed in commissions, arts education programs, design for labor & social justice projects, art handling work, and travel. This show is an enormous open-ended creative release, the work as humorous, magnetic, and perplexing as the lives producing it.

An opening event for ROGUE CITIZEN at POP OUT starts at 6pm Thursday, September 22, featuring special guest DJs and various refreshments provided by Pabst Blue Ribbon. RSVP on Facebook

A closing event will take place October 11th, 4-9PM RSVP on Facebook

Admission is free and open to the public. POP OUT Gallery is an exhibition & event space connected to Sounds Expensive record label HQ in northeast Minneapolis, located at 2014 Central Avenue in northeast Minneapolis.
