Daniel Bergin live narrates intimate stories of residents of South Minneapolis
On This Spot features informal 'video-visits' to South Minneapolis places and the people whose stories are found there. In this work-in-progress 'live documentary' screening, filmmaker and South Side native Daniel Bergin will add narrative commentary to vignettes about some of the hidden history of South Central Minneapolis, an underappreciated historic African American community.
This first journey into South Side Stories includes the park that lives up to its name, the mothers of inventive school integration, and the historic building that is the clarion of a one of Minnesota's greatest spokesmen. Part old school family slide show, part video podcast, On This Spot: South Side Stories, is an interactive, informal journey into neighborhood history.
