Bel Canto - Nicholas Harper @ Gallery 427

Gallery 427 presents its next guest: artist and Rogue Buddha gallery owner, Nicholas Harper

Artist Statement: "This body of work represents my continued search for the divine and transcendent that lives in each of us. Pitted against a worldly backdrop where all too often emphasis is placed upon the tragedies which humans purposely inflict on one another, as individuals, nations and or organizations, my hope is to find that which elevates and inspires. Through a haunting dark beauty I hope to find the song of the soul that resides in myself as well as the viewer. By distorting the figure I hope to transform the work beyond mere representation of a particular person to a symbolic and allegorical narrative for the soul, it’s connection to the divine and it’s place within our worldly natures."

This body of work is born of charcoal, pastel, acrylic, watercolor, gold leaf, glitter and wax on board.

Opening reception: Saturday January 9 ,2016 from 7 to 10pm.

Show runs through February 6 2016
