Michael Johnson Opening Reception

Michael Johnson Opening Reception

A solo exhibition of unique "time lapse" cyanotype photograms and video installation documenting a journey through Minneapolis by artist Michael Johnson.

On May 5th, 2017 Michael walked 11.2 miles across Minneapolis, carrying canvasses soaked in a photosensitive cyanotype solution under each arm. The photograms represent a recording of the three hour and nineteen minute walk from his home in Northeast Minneapolis to the Porch Gallery and back again. Michael also completed the walk with a video camera attached to a body harness. In addition to the works on canvas, the real time video of the walk will be presented.
