Memory Palaces

Memory Palaces, a solo show of abstract paintings by Derek Meier. Integrating painting and collage techniques, Meier’s beautiful and visually compelling works are a rich feast of color and texture, often including pared down geometric forms and symbology that suggest an urban landscape, while remaining unpredictable and hard to pin down. Meier’s unselfconscious, experimental approach involves an immediacy of layered applications and subsequent evaluative removal, creating a composition and style uniquely his own and wholly contemporary.
