Meditations On Light

"I refer to my paintings as Atmospheric Landscapes. This is what I am looking for each time I set out to paint a piece. I have been painting this way for twenty five years now. My paintings are based on Memory and Imagination. I do not work outside nor use photographs. I rely solely on my thumbnail sketches to guide me through the process. Being formed in Memory and Imagination, they become conglomerations of several different places from the East coast where I live to the midwest where I grew up to Italy where I teach workshops. The paintings are often dreamy, approachable yet they have a mysterious quality."
