New paintings buy Kit Wilson at Groveland

Kit Wilson has always been fascinated with nature. Variations in atmosphere, color and light found in the outdoors has long captured her imagination. In earlier paintings Wilson frequently aimed her focus on trees, broad views of the sky, and the undulating topography of open spaces, depicting them with nearly microscopic realism. In her most recent work, Wilson continues to hone her sharp observational skills as her gaze drops to take in the bodies of water she finds herself surrounded by on a daily basis.

A Minneapolis native and full-time artist, Wilson has exhibited her work at Groveland since 2002 and maintains a studio in South Minneapolis. Her work is included in numerous Twin Cities private and public collections.

The artist will be present at the opening reception Saturday, December 3rd from 2-5 pm. The opening reception and exhibition run concurrently with New Work, an exhibition of new paintings by Fred Anderson in the Annex Gallery. Both shows continue through January 21, 2017.
