Into: Minneapolis Book Launch

Into: Minneapolis Book Launch

Join the Loft & Into Quarterly as they introduce a portrait of Minneapolis from 40 local artists and writers.

City-inspired literary and arts journal Into Quarterly launches its Minneapolis volume next week: a portrait of Minneapolis, depicted through the creative work of the city’s own writers, photographers, designers, and fine artists.

Inspired by local themes such as social justice, identity, cold, and kindness, Into: Minneapolis features work by 40 artists who are currently defining Minneapolis’ creative tone, including Michael Cina, Bobby Rogers, Wing Ta, Dyani White Hawk, Danez Smith, Matt Rasmussen, Sarah Stonich, Shelly Mosman, Meg Lewis, Hieu Minh Nguyen, Ed Bok Lee, Sun Yung Shin, Eliesa Johnson, Kate Worum, Eight Hour Day, Bao Phi, Kao Kalia Yang, and many more. Through their combined voices and mediums, readers experience a portrait of Minneapolis today, and a time capsule of the art coming out of it.

The Into: Minneapolis book release party is planned for December 9 from 7-9pm at the Loft Literary Center, 1011 S Washington Ave. The event will feature a short program of readings from artist contributors, and a brief panel discussion about how a sense of place influences home, community, and social action/reaction through words and visual art. Reception and book sales to follow. This event is open to the public: Visit facebook.com/TheLoftLiteraryCenter/events for details.
