(im)permanence

The Porch Gallery hosts its inaugural exhibition with work by Christopher Saint Christopher

ABOUT THE EXHIBIT
Through his richly ornate and fragile hand cut and hand dyed papercuts, Christopher explores personal mythology, ritual, and repetition. (im)permanence is an abstract meditation on both holding on and letting go. It is also an homage to a recent live performance of “between song” by the composer/singer Meredith Monk, which was created after the sudden death of Monk’s life partner, choreographer Mieke van Hoek.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Christopher Saint Christopher (christophersaintchristopher.com) is the moniker of Minneapolis based visual and performance artist Christopher Corey Allen. He grew up in Minneapolis, and studied Visual Art and Italian at the University of Minnesota. His paper cuts have most recently been exhibited at The White Page Gallery (Minneapolis), Roman Susan (Chicago), and the Minnesota History Center (St. Paul).
