FACE

FACE

Featuring work by Wale Deen Agboola, Pao Houa Her, Peter Phung, Bobby Rogers, and Sarah White, the Marsden/Gustafson Gallery at FilmNorth is proud to present FACE, in partnership with City Wide Artists. Like the artists featured in this exhibition, Ann Marsden strove to reveal the soul of her sitters and to honor the truth of her subjects.

From Exhibition Curators Nathan RP Young and Teqen Zéa-Aida:
FACE looks to the intersection of style, race, class, and culture in Minnesota. FACE looks like brushing your teeth in the a.m., nightcrust still in your eyes, flipping through glossy glamour mags and losing sight of your own light, your exquisite crusty light. Face the luxury of ethnicity and the virtuosity of color. Face spectatorship. Face pop ruin, and spaceships for the heart. We're not after what's original—we want you genuine.

This exhibit is supported, in part, by the Archie D. and Bertha H. Walker Foundation and continues through December 21, 2017.

Marsden/Gustafson Gallery hours:
Monday-Friday, 10:30 AM-5:30 PM
The gallery is admission-free and open to the public.
