Da Vinci and The Drone

A mixed medium installation exhibition exploring aerial surveillance and the human desire to fly by Vesna Kittelson

Form+Content Gallery is pleased to present DA VINCI and the DRONE, a mixed medium installation by Vesna Kittelson. The intention of this installation is to create a basis for discussing the so called “Drone Era” - in particular the meaning of aerial surveillance in our daily life in contrast to the ancient and continuing human desire to fly. This installation is also intended to make visitors feel as if they are not in a gallery but rather walking through the artist book titled DA VINCI and the DRONE.

Artist Statement
"From the moment I realized that we live in an age where drones are part of our everyday life, in my mind, I started crossing the boundaries between art, science, and myth, again and again and again. I began to ponder the contrast between the human passion for flight and the information-based pilotless aircraft designed to only survey and record. DA VINCI and the DRONE is my way of bringing unsettling ambiguities of contemporary life together into one conceptual arena, the artist book."
