Chholing Taha

Join Showroom, August 13^th from 5-8p.m. for an artist reception welcoming the original work of Cree artist Chholing Taha “Shawl Lady”. An American Indian artist, Chholing honors Native meaning, folklore, and storytelling in her artwork using acrylics on watercolor paper. There are many sacred objects to be discovered in each painting. Each painting explores encounters with earth messages, from the great teacher Handsome Lake (Seneca), to Wintermaker, and Bears Tipi (aka Devil’s Tower). Her paintings act as an honoring, translating and preserving great stories, traditions, and messages.
