Chameleon

Gallery 360 concludes its 2017 calendar year with a thought-provoking exhibition that explores the paradoxical relationship we have with our everyday environment, entitled Chameleon.

 

This over twenty-piece suite of enlightening paintings by MN artist Shawna Gilmore is rich in enigmatic humor and comedic voice. Gilmore plays with figurative subject matter veiled in transparent guises such as wallpaper, landscape and foliage that blend and intertwine into various surroundings. This series strongly harkens a memory of ones childhood and the carefreeness and reverie of youth.
