Carolyn Swiszcz | You Build Your Own Chapels

For their October POP-UP show, Groveland Gallery welcomes guest artist Carolyn Swiszcz. You Build Your Own Chapels, a month long exhibition of new paintings, reflects Swiszcz's interest in buildings and public spaces. Of these places she writes, “these paintings depict places where I have felt in touch with a kind of grace. Some of the places are scenes from trips, others, like the sauna, are like chapels that I return to on a regular basis”. A Massachusetts native, Swiszcz moved to Minnesota in the 1990’s to attend the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. She has been a recipient of the Jerome, McKnight and Bush artist fellowships. Swiszcz currently resides in West Saint Paul, MN.
