BodyCartography Project

Four pieces presented at WAM: action movie, felt room, Lineage, and a collaboration project between somatic movement practitioners, dancers, and UMN medical students

BodyCartography Project is the Minneapolis and Oslo based dance collaboration of Olive Bieringa and Otto Ramstad, who are partnering with WAM this summer. In celebration of their twentieth anniversary BodyCartography will present four pieces at WAM: action movie, felt room, Lineage, and a collaboration project between somatic movement practitioners, dancers, and UMN medical students on understanding embryonic development.

felt room
felt room is an immersive performance installation designed to conjure imagination, speculation, and perception, engaging viewers in a practice of vibrant potentiality. In the darkness of felt room viewers are offered an escape from a world of constant illumination.

action movie
action movie is a one-on-one performance practice designed to activate our sensing bodies to connect fully with the places we are. Each performance is 20 minutes long.

Lineage
Lineage is a collection of dances, videos, and stories specially constructed for the Weisman Art Museum.

Happenings throughout several weeks. See WAM website for specific performance dates & times.
