Art Attack 2016

Art Attack 2016

Annual open studio event at Northrup King with a theme of Love and Peace this year

The Northrup King Building hosts its 19th annual Art Attack November 4-6, 2016.

In response to the current political climate, the Northrup King Building is choosing to promote peace and love through visual art, interactive art activities, writing and music.

Friday, November 4th – 5:00-10:00 pm
Saturday, November 5th – Noon – 8:00 pm
Sunday, November 6th – Noon – 5:00 pm

Join Northrup King Artists for a fun filled weekend and an opportunity to browse and buy art from the private studios of over 250 painters, sculptors, printmakers, photographers, jewelers, clothing designers, textile artists, glass blowers, ceramists, custom furniture makers and more at the Northrup King Building.

Visitors are encouraged to engage in the Global Thoughts on Peace and Love in the Third Floor Gallery (#332) throughout the weekend.  People of all backgrounds will have a chance to write their thoughts on what peace and/or love mean to them and to have it assembled into an installation to share with others.

Saturday, November 5th, the Northrup King Building is joining forces with Jane Elias from Simply Jane/Artable to create a large 1960's style Peace and Love mural.  Art Attack visitors can participate in painting the mural or paint their own 6" x 6" canvas and share the peace and love.   A live performance by musician, Mare Lennon, will bring us back to the music of the Beatles, Carol King and Joanie Mitchell.

Live music, art demonstrations, and food trucks throughout the weekend.  This is a FREE event with FREE parking.
